Move More update and the development of a Community Advisory Panel

This post is an update on Move More Sheffield, a dynamic network in Sheffield which is committed to using asset based community development to make physical activity easy to take part in for all communities in Sheffield. My previous post described the first steps taken by the Move More Sheffield Board to learn about the asset based community development approach which culminated in an celebratory and connecting event facilitated by the Board all of which were attended by people from many different communities across Sheffield.

Move More Sheffield has since begun to consider how it can take the next steps in co-creating the conditions where communities can engage and lead in helping physical activity to be easier to participate in across all our different communities.

As part of this approach Move More Sheffield is inviting active citizens who live and/or work in Sheffield to join our community advisory panel. The panel will help to co-design the development of the Move More Sheffield Network of Ambassadors.

Move More Sheffield is looking for citizens who share our ambitions, are well networked, experienced at leading voluntary physical activities at a community level and who love working in partnership.

This is an amazing opportunity to get involved in making a difference on a community and city wide level in Sheffield, you will be featured on our website and get involved in exciting events. Travel expenses and training will also be included.

I joined in as a volunteer around 6 months ago and have been impressed with the level of dedication, energy and integrity of the Board and really believe that there is a genuine commitment to empowering individuals and communities to lead the way in making physical activity easier for all to participate in Sheffield.
